"In the more books to waste your money on column"
From Waite's most recent DBS newsletter:
CLEANING-UP HAZARDOUS MATERIALS–A REFUTATION OF GAIL RIPLINGER’S HAZARDOUS MATERIALS.
The book is by Dr. Kirk DiVietro, Th.M., Ph.D. edited by Dr. H. D. Williams, M.D., Ph.D.
Here is why I urge everyone to read this clean-up book.
a. Because of the False View of Inspiration.
Gail Riplinger does not have a proper view of 2 Timothy 3:16 and of the Greek adjective, THEOPNEUSTOS meaning “God-breathed.”
b. Because of the False View of the King James Bible.
Gail Riplinger does not look to the original Words given by God in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek as foundational, but relies entirely on the King James Bible’s English.
c. Because of the False View of Lexicons and Textual Aids.
Gail Riplinger trashes all such aids supposedly because of the bad character of the authors. In reality, she does not want any light to be shown on the King James Bible except the words found therein.
d. Because of the Correcting of Pastors and Other Leaders.
Gail Riplinger violates the New Testament commands about a woman’s place regarding the teaching of pastors and other men. Especially is it obnoxious when she corrects and condemns the theology of these men. This book is 416 pages in length. It answers some of Gail Riplinger’s 1200-page book that is filled with serious inaccuracies, errors, and false Biblical doctrine. You must order it.
In Christ,
Pastor D. A. Waite, DBS President
It is about as good as can be from men who believe in VPP- the kissing cousin of an "inspired KJV." It does reveal that Mrs. Riplinger has moved to a more extremist position than even Ruckman. This whole ordeal seems to have pushed Waite, Sr. to a more moderate position like his son's (D.A. Waite, Jr.).
The book contains an open letter from Dr. Maurice A. Robinson concerning the claims of Mrs. Riplinger. Dr. Robinson acknowledges that Mrs. Waite was correct in saying the only Interlinear that he worked on was Jay Green's and that only in the OT.
The second item: he sets the record straight on his participation of the Berry's Interlinear GNT. He said he supplied "Greek text data, along with corrected Strong's number information and declension/parsing information to various electronic Bible Software manufacturers." He goes on to say that using Mrs. Riplinger's "logic" one could say he was an editor of the W-H Greek text.
The remaining appendices include the Waite's newsletters which have been posted here along with Cloud's newsletters on Riplinger's lies concerning her marriages. D.A. Waite, Jr. set the record straight on his "Doctored New Testament." He denies that Scrivener "back translated" portions of the GNT from the KJV. This is a claim that Mrs. Riplinger made in HazMat and reiterated in an email to the Waites.
The Cloud has another one of his "gems" as an additional appendix citing her penchant for misquotations. They rip into her "inspired translation- Acts 2 theory" as a holdover from her Pentecostal days. Another appendix has an article detailing the London fire in 1666. The original materials from the KJV translators were lost. So the original MSS of the KJV do not exist any longer!
The rest of the materials in the appendix is from Scrivener detailing the differences between the various editions of the KJV. How could they be verbally inspired if they do not match? Ha!
The main body of the work is done fairly well even if written from a KJVO position. They at least put Mrs. Riplinger in her place and detail that she is completely unqualified to write a book of this nature.
