Did Tyndale translate Jehoshua's name as Joshua in his Pentateuch?
In Number's 13:16 in the KJB we read:
And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.
Moses changes the son of Nun's name from Oshea to Jehoshua
In I Chronicles 7:27 a slight change occurs in the Hebrew and the KJB reads:
Non his son, Jehoshua his son.The KJB uses Jehoshua in both verses although the underlying Hebrew is slightly different.
[One Hebrew spelling of Jehoshua has a vowel point :Qibbuts.]
[The second Hebrew spelling of Jehoshua has a Hebrew vowel letter shureq]
[Both are translated as "u"]
However except for Numbers 13:16 and I Chronicles 2:27,
the KJB always translates the Hebrew word Yehoshua as Joshua.
DID TYNDALE ALSO DO THIS IN HIS PENTATEUCH?
Who are the first English translators to translate Jehoshua as Joshua?
Exodus
