I just listened to a very good message titled: "The Church of Christ" by Dr. Michael Barrett of Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.A. He teaches O.T. at Geneva Reformed Seminary. The sermon is NOT about the Campbellites who started their "Church of Christ" in the 1830's, but is about Christ and His Church. Very good message that covers much. He uses Col., ITim , John 14:6 , and Matthew 16: 13-20. There are people who post/have posted on this website (BVDB) who are either confused or are blatant heretics, and refuse to listen to orthodox admonitions from other people. One of them I have put on "ignore" status because beating my head against a brick wall is not fun or useful. Hopefully BrianT and the Mods. will like this sermon by Dr. Barrett and it can be used to correct the theologically challenged ramblings of certain posters. He used to be on faculty at B.J.U.. Dr. Barrett has many sermons on that website and on many topics. I wish there was a F.P.C. in my town. Closest one is nearly a thousand miles away in British Columbia. We have about 4,000 folks and about 10 "houses of worship" here ... ( and that's counting the usual cults and the R.C.s ) , but they are all of the arminian flavor... not a single reformed-type group here. Thankfully, I can get Sermon Audio via the internet. ...Now --- if there was some way to make a rule that every new poster, (at least 3 of the most bothersome and heretical ones) had to listen to that sermon - and agree with at least 90% of it - then they would be allowed to post. {Kinda like the "checkout botton thingy on the amazon site will not let you proceed until you pay. } Please visit www.prayerbookbaptist.com "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the word of our God shall stand for ever!"
