NASB Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. KJV ויכלוH3615 השׁמיםH8064 והארץH776 וכלH3605 צבאם׃H6635 Hebrew is arranged left to right for convenience. What we have here is the same word translated properly in plural form at the first of chapter 2. Some peoples theology about creation hangs in the balance of Gen 1:1. Not much more. I believe it is in regard to heavens plural, as this present universe will be rolled up like a scroll and the new heavens and earth will appear as witness to the plurality in the verse. The word generations(plural), which denotes beginnings, is also used as a distinction between the present sinful world and the world to come, as one plan from the beginning. Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
