Broom said in another thread that was supposed to be taken in this forum: By the way, I assume that you really do sincerely believe everything in the New Testament. Do you? If you do, could you do me a favor, and obey the last few paragraphs in the Gospel of Mark. Since it states that "they who believe shall cast out devils; they shall speak in new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;" I would ask you to drink a large glass of Clorox bleach mixed with cyanide tonight, just to verify the veracity of the New Testament and the strength of your commitment to the Lord. And after you do that, I ask that you go down to the Miami Serpentarium and handle a few cobras and black mambas, just for fun. If you really believe, then the glass of poison and the serpents "shall not hurt you." Please let me know how that turns out.Why do you want to test people like that? You are telling people to purposely test God! This is not to mention that the Bible says IF. Jesus isn't telling anyone to do these things!
This remark reminds me of another one in a different forum. Are you the same person? For some reason, there are those (dispensationalists) who think that the NT doesn't apply to Christians doctrinally, but are for another group of people in the future.
If you are a OSAS advocate, and believe that if one commits self-murder (suicide) and have that assurance that you will still make it into the kingdom of God (which murderers cannot inherit...for ex. Gal. 5:19-21), then may I be so bold as to say, Then why don't you go ahead and do it (since you challenge people here to drink poison) just to verify the veracity of the New Testament and the strength of your commitment to the Lord. Then please post the results!
