> The new evangelical subordinationism, in other words, belongs
to an overarching strategy to keep women subordinate to men who can no longer use the old weapons of thoughtless prejudice. After a frank admission that women and men are created equally in God's image, what recourse is there for keeping women under men? hmm, actually what's novel is this egalitarian thing. subordination isn't heretical, n it's far fr Arianism, as alleged in the article. it's found in the Scriptures, where the Father sends the Son, n the Son willingly surrenders to n obeys the Father's will--even to the bitter cup. though He thought it not robbery to be equal with God, He emptied Himself. don't people get that? i think everybody just needs to take a step back n look at what the Scriptures actually teach n NOT what they wished the Scriptures wld teach in some "trajectory." sola scriptura. another thing: ironically, the title's "New Evangelical"--if formally used in reference to the movt headed by Billy Graham n his compromising compatriots, the NAE, Fuller, Lausanne, etc.--actually leans in more towards egalitarianism rather than complementarianism. it's the Fundamentalists that wld tend more towards complementarianism. so the author's apparent attempt to slap the "New" label at this stage is rather late n lame, if ludicrous even.
