Now, I don't have kids of my own but I sure care about kids out there today. I am sick and tired of children being fed like wolves to hypocrites. The leadership of this church should know better, for pete's sakes. They brag about how fundamental they are and how they have the only true Bible, etc. They claim they are separate from the world while acting like it. And giving this example to impressionable minds. It's fine to have fun but when you are in church and God's word should be opened, it's time to take a break from nonsense. They bring it right in.
Anyway, about my Schaap concerns. Is it true that in his book Marriage: the Divine Intimacy that Schaap teaches such things as:
1.) the love a Christian has for the Bible should be similar to an intense romantic love. In Psalm 119:30 (I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgements have I LAID before me...) David used the word "laid" to mean sexual intercourse as a parallel to spiritual intercourse with Christ?? (Of course, any thinking person knows that David never spoke English and therefore never knew of the vulgar slang word "laid." The Hebrew word sawa means no such thing. David had set God's truth and judgment before him as before his mind, to be in his foremost thoughts; Schaap has perverted the things of God.)
2.) In Psalm 119:31, the word "stuck" means "penetration" as in a sexual/spiritual way??
3.) Nothing symbolizes more of what God has with the believer like the romantic, intimate, physical intimacies between a husband and wife. Ephesians 5:23 says that the husband is Christ in the home. When a wife receives her husband's body, she is saying, "I just want to remind you, Christ, that I am receiving You." ??
4.) The person who deeply loves Christ understands that when He receives Christ as Saviour, it is a spiritual intercourse. A person receives the body of Christ. A Christian is the female gender in the spiritual realm, and God is the male gender of the spiritual realm. When a person receives Christ as Saviour, he is receiving Christ as a lover. ??
5.) In his sermon titled "If you can't be a King, be a KingMaker (sic)" he states his belief that Mary and Joseph had to teach Jesus "all the points of the law" and that Jesus as a child had no idea of His Divinity but had to be taught it through the Scriptures by Mary and Joseph, and that Joseph and Mary are responsible for making Jesus into a "king".
I am outraged that any church would allow such a person with these corrupt beliefs to teach young, impressionable minds who will be going off to college before long. With perverse lunacy like this, no wonder Bob Gray of Trinity Baptist in FL thought what he had done to those children was no big deal and no wonder he got away with it for as long as he did. I wonder how many Hyles-Anderson information tables are going to be set up at this conference, along with Schaap's books. When pseudo-fundies say they are immune to apostasy they lie and deceive themselves. The apostasy is ripe throughout the evangelicals and the pseudo-fundamentals today.
