John 18.36 omitting "now" ... nun

In trying to piece together the reasons for the omission I haven't been able to find any evidence at all against the word. Of course it is in the TR, it is in the Majority Text, it is in the Vaticanus and in the Sinaiticus, it is found in the Vulgate. The KJV includes the word, as does the NIV. In my library, only the NASB and the NWT omit it. But neither of these footnote the omission to say why. I'm sure someone here has a clue. Please let me know.

Posts: 1233 (04/01/2003 08:28:55) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	The NASB translates the word "AS IT IS My kingdom...", because they take the meaning of the word in context to mean "the situation now is thus" - "as it is". Other versions apparently omit the word, considering it to be unnecessary in the English idiom.
