Several weeks ago, I stumbled across an old classified ad for a old Bible. I contacted the seller to see if he still had it and for more info. He still had it, and he said he didn't know much about it but he found one page in it that said "1588". Excited but a bit skeptical, I arranged to see it, and it was a genuine 1589 edition Geneva! I have a Scofield Reference Bible that was presented to me in 1981, and it was purchased that year. On its copyright page, it has Copyright 1909, 1917 and copyright renewed 1937, 1945. It evidently has the same KJV text as that checked by D. A. Waite. Waite represents it as being the typical Oxford KJV text. I have in front of me a book by the title "Corruptions in the New King Bible" by Jack Mundey. On p. 8 he writes: "...praying as long as 4 to 5 hours a day as the King James translators did? ... They were soul winners, they preached on the street and did personal work." There was no documentation for this in the book. I have read several books about the KJV translators, and I hold them in high regard, but the statement in the book seems fishy. What thinkest thou?
